Miss Risa was born and raised in St. Albert, Alberta, Canada where she started dancing at the age of three. She grew up dancing in multiple different styles of dance including Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, and Modern. During this time she had many opportunities to perform around her city as well as across North America. Miss Risa was also fortunate enough to attend the Royal Winnipeg Ballet (Winnipeg), Joffrey Ballet School (New York), and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre (New York) to attend their summer intensives. She was invited to train with both the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and Joffrey Ballet School full-time but returned home so she could continue training in all styles of dance and competing nationally and internationally. Over her competition years, Miss Risa won numerous scholarships and trophies for her performances as well as many awards for her choreography. She also completed her Advanced 1 RAD ballet exam and her Grade 7 Al Gilbert tap exam.

At the age of 18, Miss Risa moved from her small town to Vancouver, Canada to pursue her professional dance career. Here she trained at the renowned Harbour Dance Centre in their Intensive Training Program and their contemporary-heels company. In Vancouver, Miss Risa had the opportunity to work professionally in many music videos, commercials, and movies including Disney's Descendants 2. In 2019, she decided she wanted to move to London, to continue her career there. In London, Miss Risa was hired to perform in Greece but unfortunately, it was canceled due to Covid.

Miss Risa has always loved teaching children and has done so for many years. Her heart has always been with teaching and creating bonds with her students. Once the Covid-19 pandemic hit, she decided to go to University and study Business Management with the end goal of opening her own dance studio. During her time at the University, she spent much of her free time with the dance society, taking classes and coaching the Jazz and Wildcard groups. These years reinforced her love of teaching and she cannot wait to get back to teaching full-time.

Miss Risa will graduate from the University of Plymouth in September 2023 and is so excited to open her dance studio. She cannot wait to meet all her students and their families!
